This is a very easy, straight drive down a very well maintained highway. The drive through small Mexican towns will get you in the festive mood for enjoying your vacation in Mexico.
Transportation from the Cancun Airport to Desire Resort is not included in the hotel's rate. There are three ways to get to the resort.- Arrange ground transportation with us. We will have you picked-up at the airport when your flight arrives and have a van waiting to take you back to the airport as you are saying goodbye to your new friends.
- Take a taxi cab. The cost is generally $35-$40 USD each-way you use the cab. Sometimes this is quicker to get to the resort, but you will have to remember to call a cab to come back and get you so you don’t miss your flight.
- You can rent a car. All major rental car companies are located in the Cancun airport. This is probably a waste as you won’t need the car unless you plan on leaving the resort to explore. In most cases, couples group up and take private tour busses to tourist destinations like the ruins, so save your money.
Driving Directions
Take the exit road out of the airport and travel approximately 2.4 km (1.5 miles) to the highway 307 overpass. Please note that there will be an exit ramp to go South 307 on the right just before the overpass; take the first right before the overpass and travel along this road toward Puerto Morelos. Travel approximately 15 minutes or so and be on the lookout for a company called "John Deere" which is located on the right hand side of the road. Just past "John Deere" make a "U" turn. Turn right into the Bahia Petembich entrance and follow the signs for the hotel which is 3 kms. ahead directly on the beach.
